Lemon Tree Hotels is a hotel chain company based in India. It is India's largest hotel chain in the mid-priced hotel sector, and the 3rd largest overall, in terms of controlling interest in owned and leased rooms, as of June 30, 2017, according to the Horwath Report.
The company owns and operates 50 hotels with over ~5000 rooms in 31 cities of India till date. Lemon Tree Hotels was founded by Patanjali (Patu) Keswani. This award winning Indian hotel chain opened its first hotel with 49 rooms in May 2004.
The company operates under 3 brands: Lemon Tree Premier (upper midscale), Lemon Tree Hotels (midscale) & Red Fox by Lemon Tree Hotels (economy).
In India, its hotels are located in major destinations such as Alwar, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Baddi, Bandhavgarh, Bhiwadi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Corbett, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Manesar, Noida, Patna, Pune, Gangtok, Siliguri, Srinagar, Tiruchirappalli and Vadodara,.
Lemon Tree Hotels plans to expand its portfolio to 8200 rooms by 2021. Hotels are currently under development in Mumbai, Pune, Dehradun, Kolkata, Shimla and Udaipur. The company is also developing a 671 room hotel adjoining the Mumbai International airport. When ready (2021), it will be India's largest hotel by number of rooms.
Lemon Tree Hotels went public in early 2018 and listed on the National Stock Exchange of India on 9th April 2018.

Employees With Disabilities
Currently, 20% of group employees are from this segment of the population. Lemon Tree has also developed a standard process to induct people with disabilities into its entire hotels pan India. Lemon Tree Hotels believes in being an equal opportunity employer and has been recognized on various platforms for its work towards employing differently abled.
Pooch Policy
Lemon Tree Hotels adopts a stray dog at each of its hotels across India. We name the dog, inoculate it and feed it well. Based on the personality of the dog, he/she is assigned a 'fun' role in the hotel and this brings joy to employees and guests alike.
The Lemon Tree Hotel Company also adopts street dogs that are cared for by the Lemon Tree team. A supporter of the NGO PETA (People for Ethical Treatments of Animals), each of its hotels in India has an adopted dog mascot. It is the largest corporate adopter of stray dogs in India.
